CHSP DEX Stage 3: new session-level reporting fields
in progress

The Department of Social Services is adding new mandatory session-level fields to the Data Exchange (DEX) under CHSP Stage 3, expected to take effect around August 2026. Once they are live, DEX will reject submissions that are missing these fields, which would hold up CHSP funding claims for the affected sessions.
We are building support for the new fields into Visualcare so CHSP providers can keep lodging DEX reports that meet the Stage 3 requirements, without reworking how your team rosters.
What this will look like:
A new CHSP DEX Stage 3 section in Maintenance > Services, shown only for CHSP services. You set the new values once per service: session location, meal type breakdown, texture modified items, meals cooked offsite, overnight, and similar. Those values flow automatically through to rosters, timesheets and the DEX export. There is no new field to complete on every shift.
Subcontractor and Volunteer status is derived automatically from the worker type assigned to the shift, so there is nothing extra to enter.
Changes you make to a service apply across existing and future rosters and timesheets, so you do not need a separate data clean-up before go-live.
The first release covers the mandatory Stage 3 fields for meal delivery, respite and individual social support. A small number of non-mandatory fields, including transport engagement time and trip distance, are planned for a later phase.
Timing:
we are targeting availability ahead of the Stage 3 go-live on 11 August 2026.S
